Dental FAQs

Whether you’re considering dental implants for the first time or exploring what full-mouth reconstruction could look like for you, having clear answers makes all the difference. The decisions surrounding tooth replacement, sedation, and long-term oral health are significant ones, and we want to make sure you feel informed and confident every step of the way.

We’re a family-oriented practice in SouthPark that specializes in dental implants, All-on-X procedures, and restorative dentistry. At ReNew Dental Arts, we believe an educated patient is an empowered patient, and we’ve built this FAQ page with that in mind. If you don’t see your question answered here, we’re always happy to talk through your specific situation.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the most researched and clinically supported solutions available for missing teeth. Understanding how they work helps patients approach treatment planning with confidence.

What Are Dental Implants, and How Do They Work?

A: A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone to function as a replacement tooth root. Once the post fuses with the underlying bone through a process called osseointegration, it provides a strong, stable foundation for a crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthetic. Because implants work like natural tooth roots, they help preserve jawbone density and maintain the structural integrity of your face over time.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last?

A: With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The titanium post itself is built to be permanent, while the prosthetic crown or arch placed on top may eventually need replacement after many years of use. Research consistently shows that implants carry long-term survival rates well above 90 percent when placed by an experienced provider and maintained with routine care.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

A: Most adults in good health are candidates for dental implants. Adequate jawbone density is typically required to support the implant post, though bone grafting or sinus lift procedures can address deficiencies in many cases. Conditions like uncontrolled diabetes or active gum disease would need to be addressed before implant placement. We assess each case individually to determine the most appropriate treatment path.

All-on-X and Full-Arch Procedures

Full-arch implant treatment has transformed what’s possible for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth. These procedures address the limitations of traditional dentures by providing a fixed, natural-looking result supported by implants.

We perform All-on-X procedures with an in-house dental lab and surgical suite. That setup allows us to control quality and turnaround at every stage of treatment, all under one roof.

What Is All-on-X, and How Is It Different From Traditional Dentures?

A: All-on-X, also referred to as full-arch dental implants or Teeth in a Day, uses four or more implant posts to anchor a complete arch of replacement teeth. Unlike traditional dentures, which sit on the gums and can slip or require adhesive, All-on-X restorations are fixed in place and function much like real teeth. You can eat, speak, and smile with confidence without worrying about movement or discomfort. Our restorations are crafted using advanced digital workflows, including 3D printing and CAD/CAM milling, for precision fit and lasting aesthetics.

Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety is more common than most people realize, and it should never be a barrier to getting the care you need.

What Sedation Options Do You Offer?

A: We offer IV sedation administered by a licensed CRNA, meaning Dr. Klein can stay fully focused on the surgical procedure while a dedicated anesthesia provider monitors your comfort and safety throughout. This approach is especially valuable for complex cases like full-arch implant surgery.

Is Sedation Safe?

A:  Yes. IV sedation administered by a qualified anesthesia provider is very safe and widely used in oral surgery and implant procedures. Because we bring in a dedicated CRNA for our surgical cases, your sedation is monitored separately from the procedure itself. This level of oversight is a meaningful safety distinction from offices where the dentist manages both the sedation and the treatment simultaneously.
